Satisfy

Words Bjorn Dossche

Running, Reimagined.

Why does running gear have to look like running gear? That simple question led to the creation of Satisfy, a brand that approaches running from a different angle. Founded in Paris in 2015 by Brice Partouche, Satisfy doesn’t necessarily think of pace, distance and performance, but instead focuses on a running state of mind. A way to disconnect, explore and experience. Satisfy’s ambition is simple but distinctive: to create exceptionally functional equipment without asking runners to compromise on personality or aesthetics.

A different way of thinking.

Satisfy’s roots help explain its unconventional approach. Before founding the brand, Partouche created the denim label April77 and worked closely with the worlds of music, skateboarding and fashion. That countercultural spirit remains at the heart of Satisfy today. Rather than following the traditional codes of sportswear, the brand develops its own fabrics, constructions and details, obsessing over everything from pocket placement to friction and breathability. Its collaborations extend this philosophy beyond running, connecting with artists, musicians and designers who share its experimental mindset.

Philosophy meets product.

The brand’s unconventional thinking becomes most tangible in its products. Satisfy combines highly technical materials with an aesthetic that deliberately moves away from conventional performance gear. MothTech™ is a perfect example: inspired by the beauty of worn-in vintage t-shirts, the fabric is perforated in specific areas of the body to improve ventilation, turning what looks like a distressed cotton tee into a carefully engineered running garment. More recently, Satisfy has taken this approach into footwear with TheROCKER, its first running shoe. Designed for long-distance and trail running, it combines lightweight construction, responsive cushioning and a technical Vibram outsole, while bringing the brand’s distinctive design language to a category traditionally dominated by performance-first aesthetics.

Running as a culture.

Ultimately, what makes Satisfy different is its refusal to separate performance from culture. Its world brings together runners, artists, musicians, designers and the wider communities that surround them. The brand’s involvement in ultra running and its collaborations with figures from outside traditional sports underline this approach: running becomes not just something you train for, but something you experience, share and build a culture around.
