Their dedication to craftsmanship and innovation – along with their Japanese heritage – caught our attention and soon lead us on the path of an exciting collaboration that leans into the shared characteristics and inspirations of both brands.

Working on a collaborative project with another brand is a unique process. It starts with the recognition of common values and aesthetics in one another. From there on out, ideas are exchanged, a scope is defined, and design work starts. All of these things came very naturally while we worked on this collab. It’s no secret that Bellerose has always been inspired by Japanese savoir-faire and style. On top of that we’ve always had a soft spot for brands that do things just a little differently, brands that think out-of-the-box. That’s exactly why Flower Mountain was such a logical choice for us.

In a world full of sneakers and sneaker brands, Flower Mountain distinguishes itself through a unique fusion of technical expertise and outdoor ethos. Their design embodies the harmony between nature-inspired motifs and contemporary fashion sensibilities, all in a color palette that is very much their own. This merge between tradition and modernity sets Flower Mountain apart, offering a distinctive narrative that resonates with those seeking authenticity and innovation in footwear.

This new collaboration that connects Tokyo and Brussels offers the already iconic Yamano 3 Flower Mountain sneaker in 3 colorways, next to an exclusive range of apparel in the form of sling bags, socks and t-shirts. To shed some light on how everything came to be and what this collab aims to bring into the world, we had a talk with Miriam Greco, Flower Mountain’s brand manager:

When Flower Mountain does a collab, what do you look for in the partnering brand?

A.

When we engage in a collaboration, we seek partnering brands that share common values, resonate with a similar target audience, possess an international appeal, and embody a contemporary aesthetic. It’s crucial for us to align not only on a conceptual level but also in terms of market positioning and brand identity. This synergy ensures that our collaborative efforts result in an authentic and cohesive collection that speaks to our clients, transcending geographical boundaries while staying relevant in today’s global market.

How did you get to know Bellerose and how do you see the brand?

A.

I first encountered Bellerose during a research trip to Antwerp, where I was instantly drawn to the concept of their stores and the brand itself. Upon further interaction, it became clear that we shared a mutual affinity, prompting us to embark on a collaborative journey that culminated in this capsule collection. Our collaboration celebrates the fusion between these two souls by seamlessly integrating our respective aesthetics into a cohesive and compelling lineup of apparel and footwear. It’s been a pleasure to work alongside such a dynamic and visionary brand, and I’m thrilled with the results.

What’s your personal favorite part of the collab with Bellerose and why?

A.

It would have to be how beautifully Bellerose captured the essence of Flower Mountain. It's truly fascinating to witness Bellerose's interpretation of our brand's spirit in every detail, from the accessories to the clothes and shoes. The result is a delightful fusion of both brands' personalities, creating a collection that resonates with a sense of shared vision and creativity. Each piece tells a story of collaboration, blending our distinct styles into something entirely unique and captivating.
